In A Nutshell has been at home in the Ruhr valley since 2012 – at least professionally speaking. After numerous projects together with RWE, innogy and innogy Stiftung, we started working with another energy supplier in 2020: we support Emscher Lippe Energie – locally, it is affectionately known as ELE – with an emphasis on social media and online communication. The first step was an evaluation of the existing situation, with a focus on channel architecture, target groups, competition and design in social media. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, workshops were almost all virtual – but thanks to the right setting and committed, active participants, these workshops were just as effective as in “real life”.
In order to professionalise the processes, we subsequently set up a social media newsroom together with our colleagues from ELE’s corporate communications, marketing and HR departments. We then introduced the necessary digital tools for cross-departmental collaboration. A redesign of the social media formats will make ELE’s appearance on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other platforms even more concise.
The next project is the website relaunch. Here, we will look after everything that relates to content. The undertaking will begin with a persona analysis. Then, building on this analysis, we will revise the content to make it SEO-based and give it an editorial perspective – or, in some cases, we’ll develop new content. The goals: to provide the various customers of Emscher Lippe Energie with the appropriate content, to achieve better Google rankings and to tell exciting stories. In this way we want to increase website traffic and also increase the number of conversions.
